Jake Fagundo (b. 1997, Chicago, IL) lives and works in Los Angeles. His studio practice is equal parts surrender and effort. By working through disparate and aberrant sensibilities, Fagundo casts a wide net and asks the viewer as well as himself: How do we reconcile absurd contradictions and complicated narratives on a personal, cultural, and spiritual level. He has been the subject of solo and two-person exhibitions at Sulk Chicago, Imperial Gallery Los Angeles, M. LeBlanc Chicago, and most recently at As It Stands Los Angeles. He has participated in group exhibitions at Darkzone NY , Temple Projects Los Angeles, As It Stands Los Angeles, and Jarvis in New York. Fagundo has had press written about his work featured in Bad At Sports podcast, The LA Times, and Newcity Art Magazine. He curated NICE WORK (1,2,3) at Sulk Chicago.
