Gavin Yuan Gao (they/them) is a poet and translator living on Yuggera and Turrbal Country in Meanjin, in so-called Australia. Their debut collection, At the Altar of Touch, was published by the University of Queensland Press in 2022 and received the 2023 Prime Minister’s Literary Award. They hold an MFA in Creative Writing from the Michener Center for Writers.
