The Hour of Supper

in collaboration with John Milton and MC Hyland

we labor            to dress

                           to tend

our                     enjoy ‘d             hands

              redress the wanton wild

an invitation

              to the little luxurious restraint

                                          an early

                                                         present

we labor            to dress

                           our tender

                                                      hands

               red, restless

               too little              too early

                                                                       the present

                           stolen, a way

                           to redress wanting

we labor            to dress

               our joy             in hands

               resting on want

               wild piqued  to luxury

                            early restraint

                            consider abandon

we labor

we climb near each

                                         other daylong

                            to undress

or we lay             born of restraint

                            hour tender

thus, a wild fruit of breath

              gathers in the basket

                           of our bed

we labor             we dress

newly    trained by an

              unearned tender

                                         I pay

all day

              new currency

              his scent   so near

a smoked and dimpled pear
